Following his suspension by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) as the Chairman of Lagos State chapter of the union, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, has asked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to take over the running of all parks and garages in the state.He stated this during a press conference at the NURTW Secretariat in the Agege area of the state on Thursday.He also announced the withdrawal of himself and his lieutenants from NURTW as a union.And like a system under remote control, the Lagos state government immediately suspended "the activities of NURTW, which must cease to operate in all parks and garages in Lagos State. The Government will set up a Committee to immediately take control of the parks and garages. Members of the committee will be key stakeholders.">

Nice (Andrew) Omininikoron, the driver of the Bus Rapid Transit vehicle arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a passenger, Oluwabamise Ayankole, has been accused of engaging in illicit acts with another female passenger in Lagos State.The female victim, who spoke exclusively to Punch, accused Omininikoron of r@ping her on November 25, 2021.This came amid calls for justice for Oluwabamise, whose corpse was recovered at Ebute Ero, after she was last seen on the BRT bus driven by Omininikoron.Narrating her ordeal on Thursday, the lady accused the 47-year-old of r@ping her right inside the BRT bus.The former sales girl at a shop in Ajah said after she closed from work around 8pm, she boarded the BRT bus driven by the suspect.The driver was to convey her from the Alesh Bus Stop in Ajah, to Jakande, along the Lekki Epe Expressway, when things took another dimension.She said, “While on our way, he switched off the light of the bus, but the AC was on. But as we approached the first toll gate coming from Ajah, he suddenly parked the bus. He then told me to come and sit at the front and started asking me different questions.“I saw him using a drug and my thinking was that he parked the bus to use the drug before time ran out. A few minutes later, he started making advances towards me and I saw that his manhood had risen up. I became very uncomfortable and insisted on getting down, but he didn’t open the door.“He said he wanted both of us to go and chill and that he wanted to have s@x with me, but I declined. Suddenly, he brought out a knife and dragged me to the back seat of the bus. He told me to take off my clothes, but I refused. He threatened to kill me. He tore my gown, forcefully removed the biker short I wore and r@ped me. I felt sad.”The victim said she could not call for help because Omininikoron parked the bus at a desolate location, adding that he refused to let her go after allegedly r@ping her.She added, “He insisted on driving me to my destination at Jakande Bus Stop. When we got to my bus stop, he still didn’t open the door. He demanded my account number and started pleading over what he did. He said he wanted to send money to me to buy painkillers.“I refused to give him my account, but he kept demanding and refused to open the door. Before he r@ped me, he seized my phone, and because I needed evidence, I gave him my account and he sent N3,000. He then opened the door and I left.“I could not speak out because I was ashamed of what happened and believed I could not get justice. But when his pictures started circulating online regarding the death of the lady (Oluwabamise), I told my friend that I knew him (Omininikoron).“After seeing his coloured picture, I went to my bank, requested my statement of account, traced the day he sent me the money, and it was the same name, Omininikoron Nice, which was in the picture circulating.“I told my friend about it and she introduced me to a rights activist. Some people may question me for speaking out now, but I am speaking out because of the girl. That man must not be freed because he is responsible for what happened.”A statement of account provided by the victim confirmed Omininikoron sent N3,000 to her on November 25, 2021.A video clip of her torn clothes was also seen by Punch.The police spokesperson, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, urged the victim to make a formal report of the incident.He said, “If the victim has a case against him, she should report at the nearest police station or the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, and it will be investigated.”> 

The Lagos State commissioner of police, Abiodun Alabi has directed all area commanders and Divisional Police Officers to beef up security and maintain visibility in their area of coverage.This is coming on the heels of the indefinite suspension of the Lagos State Chapter Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo, over alleged misconduct, insubordination, and inciting members of the state chapter against the apex body,The state police boss said a directive has been given on the deployment and patrol of all motor parks across Lagos.He assured Lagos residents of adequate security of life and property.The Abuja headquarters of the Transport union also directed MC Oluomo to immediately hand over the mantle of leadership to his deputy chairman and release all property belonging to the body in his possession to State Secretary, in a bid to avoid any leadership vacuum in the state.Reacting, MC Oluomo's spokesman, Jimoh Buhari, in a statement on Thursday, said that his principal has not received an letter to that effect, claiming that he remains the state chairman.>

In 2019, she became the police commissioner in charge of training at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.Before that, she worked as a Crime and Staff Officer SOI, SOJ in the Imo State Police Command between 1989 and 1993.She had also worked as a directing staff at Police College Ikeja in Lagos State from 1993 to 2001 and also in the Lagos State Command as a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), Area Crime Officer (ACO), Staff Officer, and Chief Superintendent of Police (Admin).In 2008, she was reassigned to Police Academy Kano as a directing staff member. She was Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Intelligence (FIIB), FHQ Annex, AC X-Squad FCIID Alagbon, Area Commander, Eastern Port Authority Police Command, Port Harcourt from 2009 to 2016.She worked as the Delta State Command’s second in command/Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of administration between 2016 and 2019, after which she enrolled in the National Defence College on September 1, 2019.Ms. Onadeko may be heading the Federal Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID), a section of the police widely perceived as most powerful and most preoccupied.> 

Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday declared as illegal, the defection of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and his deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).The court made the order in a judgment on a suit filed by the PDP seeking the removal of Umahi and Igwe from office.While Umahi, at a press conference in Abakaliki berated the judge and insisted that he remained the state governor, the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, said the party had forwarded Umahi and Igwe’s replacements to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).Earlier on Tuesday, the FHC Abuja held that the crux of the suit was the defection of the third defendants (governor) and the fourth defendants (deputy governor) from the PDP to the APC.The judge said the declarations of the third and the fourth defendants did not address the issue of defection rightly and frontally but rather resorted to general denial and affidavit evidence.Justice Ekwo said the depositions of the third and the fourth defendants in their counter-affidavit were “evasive and insufficient” to competently challenge the plaintiff’s originating process.The judge said, “The immunity clause” in Section 308 of the constitution is not absolute. Section 308 is a veritable constitutional shield”, and not for political reasons.The court said Umahi and Igwe did not controvert the deposition that total votes scored in an election belonged to a political party. While APC and PDP have been reacting to their loss and victory respectively, INEC who has the constitutional power to do the needful says it was waiting for the true copy of the judgment to enable it do the right thing.>

A Deputy Inspector-General and the head of the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Joseph Egbunike is dead.DIG Egbunike collapsed inside his office in Abuja in the late hours of Tuesday, 8th of March.Until his death, Egbunike was in charge of the highest investigating arm of the Nigeria Police. Its functions include investigation and prosecution of serious and complex criminal cases. The department also coordinates crime investigations/prosecution throughout the police.Egbunike had, in late 2021, investigated suspended DCP Abba Kyari, but did not indict him despite indictments by the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation, all in a bid to give Kyari a soft landing.Sadly, while still working and making plans on how to live his life, death came like a flash and, just like that, he's gone.>

A Nigerian lady simply known as Nnenna, has revealed that her sister who went for her National Youth Service programme (NYSC) returned with pregnancy without a husband.Sharing the story on Twitter, the young lady said as soon as her pregnant sister arrived at home, she quickly went into her own room and locked herself inside to avoid witnessing the drama that would break out between her parents and her pregnant sister.She wrote; ”My sister who went for NYSC. Lagos State Police Commissioner, Abiodun Alabi, has narrated how BRT driver, Andrew Nice suspected to have abducted and killed Oluwabamise Ayanwole, was arrested.Bamise, a 22-year-old lady was abducted while travelling in a BRT bus from Chevron area, Lekki to Oshodi on 26th February, 2022. She was found dead on Monday and the culprit arrested.Alabi, at a news conference at the Police Command, in Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, said Nice was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).He said the suspect was arrested in his hideouts in Ogun State where he had fled after committing the heinous crime of murder.Alabi stated that the police were saddened by the death of Ayanwole, saying that as soon as the report was received by the police, detectives were dispatched and search parties organised to trace the whereabouts of the missing lady.He explained that the police were also in synergy with other relevant strategic partners with the determination and strength within their capacity to unravel the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the innocent, promising young lady.“Sadly, while intensive investigation was ongoing, information was received that the victim’s lifeless body was found on the Carter Bridge by Ogogoro Community, Lagos Island. The corpse has since been recovered and deposited at the mortuary of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.“While our operatives were working tirelessly and were almost closing on the suspect in his criminal hideout in Ogun State, information was received from our sister agency, the DSS that he had been arrested by their operatives.“The arrest of the suspects consoles us because concerted efforts of the police and our strategic partners eventually yielded the desired result.“The suspect, Andrew Nice ‘m’ aged 47 was subsequently handed over to the police for further necessary actions,” he said.Speaking to the media on how the innocent lady Bamise was murdered, the BRT driver claimed he was overwhelmed by the kidnappers after they showed him a gun and they forced him to take a different route before dragging the lady out of the bus and fled with her. He insisted he ran away because he was scared, claiming he had no connection with those who committed the evil act. Wife of a businessman, Adewola Adesioye Ojo (Mrs.) has raised the alarm over the disappearance of her 31-year-old husband, Michael Ojo, four months ago in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.Michael Ojo, a solar installer, was last seen on October 10, 2021, in the company of a lady with an undisclosed identity in a hotel.Speaking with Vanguard, the wife said, “He said he was going out at about 5pm. We chatted around 8pm on Whatsapp when he asked if there was light and said I should prepare Eba (cassava flour) for him. After preparing it, I put it on the dinning.“I became worried when he did not return home by 9pm. I called his mobile line severally, he didn’t pick.“I called my brother-in-law to help me call him. After a while, he called back to say my husband’s phone was switched off.“When I dialed it, it was indeed switched off. I thought he did not want to come home and didn’t know how to tell me.“The next day, I dialed his number again and it was still switched off. That was when I started calling his friends and they all said they didn’t see him.“I went to the nearest police station in the company of some of my husband’s friends to lodge a complaint on his disappearance.“We were advised to go to lyaganku Police Division.“At the Division, the officers said we should go to their control room, where his information was collected and they called all the police stations in Oyo State to know if he was in police custody.“The Divisions called back that he was not in any of them. The policeman who was seen in a viral video carrying a female VIP's food plate at an event in Ilorin, Kwara state's capital, has been asked to report at the police headquarters in Abuja.The Force Headquarters, which warned its operatives attached to Very Important Persons (VIPs) all over the country to stop serving purposes other than protecting such individuals from security threats, said the viral video is being probed.Acting Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed that the police officer has been identified and summoned to Abuja.Adejobi said; “He (the policeman) has been identified. He is coming to Abuja to meet us. We’ll ask question from him and take necessary action. We need to discourage such a thing because it is embarrassing the image of the Force and we can’t continue to be experiencing that kind of a thing because it is highly unprofessional.”> 

After months of hide and sick, the Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the request by the United States of America, for suspended Commander of the Police Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari, to be extradited over the $1.1million wire fraud perpetrated by Abass Ramon aka Hushpuppi and 4 others.Government’s approval was made known by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) when he filed an application before the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja for Kyari’s extradition.The application marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022 was filed under the Extradition Act.The AGF said the application followed a request by the Diplomatic Representative of the U.S. Embassy in Abuja.The request is “for the surrender of Abba Alhaji Kyari, who is a subject in a superseding three counts indictment”The AGF said he was satisfied that the offence in respect of which Kyari’s surrender is not political nor is it trivial.The AGF also expressed satisfaction that the request for the surrender of Kyari was not made to persecute or punish him on account of his race, religion, nationality or political opinions but in good faith and the interest of justice.He said Kyari, “if surrendered, will not be prejudiced at his trial and will not be punished, detained or restricted in his personal liberty, by reason of his race, nationality or political opinions”.The AGF said having regard to all the circumstances in which the offence was committed, it will not be unjust or oppressive, or be too severe a punishment, to surrender him.Malami said he was also satisfied that Kyari has been accused of the offence for which his surrender is sought.He noted that there was no criminal proceeding pending against Kyari in Nigeria for the same offence.Recall that in April 2021, a jury filed an indictment against Kyari with the approval of the U.S. District Court and demanded Kyari stand trial for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering and identity theft.Consequently, the US Embassy requested for Kyari’s extradition saying, “On April 29, 2021, based on the indictment filed by the grand jury and with the approval of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, a deputy clerk of the court issued a warrant of arrest for Kyari.“The arrest warrant remains valid and executable to apprehend Kyari for the crimes with which he is charged in the indictment.“Kyari is wanted to stand trial in the United States for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering, and identity theft (in the US).">

A young man identified as Luwizo is the latest special husband in town. The polygamous man from Kalehe, South Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, recently married triplets Natasha, Natalie, Nadege in a colourful wedding ceremony.In an interview with AfriMax, Luwizo revealed he first fell in love with Natalie, who he met on social media and couldn’t resist. Whenever Luwizo would visit Natalie’s home, and she was not around, he would be welcomed by one of the triplets and couldn’t differentiate them. With time, the three sisters fell in love with him.Luwizo said he was shocked to meet three identical women after visiting Natalie’s house to formalise their marriage.“At first, when we told him he had to marry all of us he was shocked. But because he had already fallen in love with all of us, nothing could stop our plans since we were also in love with him. Even though people consider it impossible for three women to share one husband, but to us, sharing everything has been our life since childhood”, Natalie, one of the triplets said.Speaking about the experience, the man said:“I almost fainted. I asked them amongst all of you, who is Natalie? They told me I had met all of them on different days I visited. It can withstand any heavy duty vehicle,” Lamidi Sikiru, a driver expressed optimism.John Moses, a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, said his taxi business is booming compared to when the road was very deplorable with potholes and barely used by motorists.A community leader of Apa Bunu Kingdom and spokesperson for the community, Sam Omosayil, commended the Dangote Group, saying that the road has attracted a lot of businesses along the road.>

A yet to be identified young man has sustained a serious face injury after he was stabbed during a fight over sharing of “yahoo yahoo” proceeds in Ughelli, Delta State.The incident occurred on Friday at their residence located at Ogboni Street behind Government College in Oteri.According to reports, trouble started when both parties insisted on receiving a larger percentage of the proceeds citing individual roles they had played while scamming their victim.A source disclosed that efforts made by neighbors to stop the fight were in vain as one picked up a weapon and inflicted a deep cut very close to the other’s right eye.He, “This is not the first time they are fighting over yahoo yahoo money. But this is the first time that their fight is drawing blood.“As the fight ensued, the other guy grabbed a weapon and stabbed him in the face. At first, we thought that he was stabbed in the eye as blood covered his face..."Another source said; “The two of them that are fighting used to be friends and they hustled together. Because they did not initially agree percentage, when the money dropped, they had a disagreement about how to share it. The disagreement degenerated into the fight that led to the stabbing. Greed couldn’t let them agree on a sharing formula.">
