Did you hear about the new trend of taking ginger shots every day? Is that the miracle your skin needs to clear up acne and wrinkles? While skincare fads come and go, it’s important to investigate which ones are worth trying. Ginger shots are juice shots made from ginger root. Many people clean, peel, extract the ginger root and drink it to keep their skin free from acne and wrinkles, but does it work?  The National Institutes of Health in the United States published a study that showed ginger has been used for years to cure skin-related conditions; however, has it been effective? 5 Affordable Lip Glosses BellaNaija Style Editors Love
Almost every woman remembers a time in her childhood when lip gloss was a staple. During our younger years, lipstick was often forbidden in schools, and lip gloss became the go-to for keeping lips moisturised, shiny, and glossy. Lip glosses came in different delightful colours and flavours, but those coveted had intense shine, glitter, and long-lasting wear. One would think that as we’ve gotten older, we would use more lipsticks than lip gloss, but many Gen Zs and young millennials born around 1995-1997 have stuck with lip glosses. Why is this, you may ask? Makeup trends have evolved, transitioning from the matte lipstick craze of 2016 to the current preference for a glossy, dewy, and almost luminous look. When searching for the perfect lip gloss, affordability is a key factor, alongside its moisturising properties and ability to last long on the lips. Although lip glosses are expected to be budget-friendly, many Nigerians living in Nigeria can’t afford lip glosses like Rhode, Summer Fridays, and Fenty as they cost between ₦20,000-₦60,000. For a single lip gloss? Yes! So, if you’re mindful of your budget and the above qualities, what’s the best lip gloss to choose? Based on the recommendations of three […] The post 5 Affordable Lip Glosses BellaNaija Style Editors Love appeared first on BN Style.

Glamour And Flamboyance: What It Means To Be A Nigerian Wedding Guest
As far as I can remember, attending a wedding party was a big deal. Even as a child, I saw how my mother and her friends prepared for weddings. Waje‘s look to the 17th Headies Awards was nothing short of majestic. Radiating poise and power, she graced the event in a royal blue gown that celebrated her roots, a nod to her Instagram caption, “Royalty never forgets her roots. #theheadies2025.” Her gown featured a structured, beaded bodice adorned with intricate floral patterns in varying shades of blue that shimmered under the light with every movement. And then a voluminous satin skirt that gave her the princess look. What we think brought the whole look together was the beauty glam. Trend Alert! Long Skirts Are Back In Fashion
If you grew up in the ’90s and early 2000s, you likely heard the terms ‘Mary Amaka’ or ‘Deeper Life Skirts’ used to describe the long skirts worn by women. And when someone called you ‘Mary Amaka’, you’d probably work hard to let them know you’re a fashionista. Well, not anymore. Once synonymous with a holy and righteous lifestyle, these skirts are now back in fashion. Today, they are often paired with an off-shoulder top and, in some instances, a veil around the neck.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Doja (@shop.doja) In fashion, rules are fluid: what’s trendy today might be outdated tomorrow, and yesterday’s unfashionable item can become today’s must-have. Why are they back, you may ask? Well, let’s just say styles and trends come and go. However, one of the appealing aspects of this revived trend is its inherent elegance.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Powede Eniola Awujo (@powedeawujo) It’s also encouraging to see many Nigerian ready-to-wear brands incorporating this aesthetic, and another amazing thing about this look is it’s a simple style for your tailor to recreate. A Lagos Love Story: The Fashion, The Glam, and The Style Behind the Storyline
When A Lagos Love Story premiered on Netflix, the buzz wasn’t just about its romance or soundtrack, it was also about the fashion. Set during Lagos’ Art and Culture Week, the film leans into a vibrant, dynamic aesthetic that mirrors the city itself: bold, chaotic, soft in moments, and stunningly styled. At the center of the film is Promise Quest (played by Jemima Osunde), an aspiring event planner fighting to save her family home. Thrust into babysitting duties for rising Afrobeats sensation King Kator, she navigates a whirlwind of celebrity chaos, sibling drama, and unexpected romance. But through it all, the one thing that remains consistent? Fashion is always saying something. Promise Quest: Subtle Power, Timeless Consistency Promise Quest isn’t a character that shifts for the spotlight, and neither does her style. Throughout the film, her fashion remains consistent: understated, composed, and quietly confident. In a world of overstated glam and celebrity chaos, Promise stands firm in who she is, and her wardrobe reflects that. From sleek neutral tones to functional yet elegant silhouettes, her style is less about trends and more about intention. She doesn’t transform for anyone, and that’s what makes her unforgettable. #JP2025: Get The First Look at Priscilla & Juma Jux’s Traditional Wedding Outfit
The wedding of the year is underway, and Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux are giving us a lot to talk about. While we’ve shared looks from the aso-ebi ladies and bride’s mother, let’s take a moment to take in the stunning first look of the bride and groom. If anyone could wear pink, orange and purple so elegantly, it’s definitely this couple. Both are dressed in the traditional Yoruba aso-oke attire. The bride (Priscilla Ojo) is wearing a beaded dress with ruffled layers at the hem. Her accessories are minimal, choosing a diamond necklace for a clean, polished look. Juma Jux might be Tanzanian, but an agbada sure looks good on him. The front is detailed with embellishments in orange and touches of gold embroidered down to the hem. This look is complemented by long beads around his neck. His purple staff is symbolic. With it bearing the carved map of Africa, Juma Jux seems to be paying homage to a love that transcends countries, symbolising the union between two African countries; Nigeria and Tanzania. Like the designer described, “this look is a statement in power, poise and precision.”   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by […] The post #JP2025: Get The First Look at Priscilla & Juma Jux’s Traditional Wedding Outfit appeared first on BN Style.

Sandrah Tubobereni Is on the Ultimate Birthday Getaway and It’s Giving Soft Life Supreme
If “birthday behaviour” had a location, it just might be Habitas AlUla. Fashion designer Sandrah Tubobereni celebrated her last birthday with a dreamy escape to Saudi Arabia’s desert gem, and she did it in the most stylish way possible. From sunrise lounging to golden-hour glam, the trip is serving luxury, leisure, and body goals in one perfectly curated photo dump. Little wonder she hoarded photos for so long. Let’s be honest, Tubo never misses when it comes to fashion. But this time, she’s adding travel girlie to her résumé. Her vacation wardrobe? Tubo woman! And, of course, easy glam and skin that’s absolutely thriving under the AlUla sun. Every look is a reminder that rest and luxury can co-exist — and should.   And here’s the fun twist. Priscilla Ojo also spent her birthday at Habitas Alula earlier this year. Coincidence? Or are the girls quietly naming this the new “it” spot for birthday getaways?   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Priscilla Ajoke Ojo (@its.priscy) We’re starting to think that this desert oasis might just be the ultimate destination for 2025 birthday baddies. Think about it. Peaceful views, bucket list experiences, jaw-dropping photo ops, and […] The post Sandrah Tubobereni Is on the Ultimate Birthday Getaway and It’s Giving Soft Life Supreme appeared first on BN Style.

Did BamBam Just Give the Pixie Cut a Feminine Twist?
Earlier this year, we declared it loud and clear: 2025 is the year of the pixie cut. From Ayra Starr’s edgy, textured take to Kim Oprah’s sleek, sculpted version, the short crop has been everywhere. It’s bold, stylish, and impossible to ignore. But just when we thought we had seen all the ways this trend could show up, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam, entered the chat with a pixie cut so soft, so striking, that we had to pause and take it all in. Known for her beauty and often described as a walking ode to peak femininity, Bam Bam actress, and star of the hit romance film Love In Every Word,  just debuted a fresh pixie cut,  by hairstylist Faith Alex, that’s turning heads across the timeline.    View this post on Instagram   A post shared by BellaNaija Beauty (@bellanaijabeauty) What makes BamBam’s version of the pixie so powerful is the way she wears it without losing an ounce of her signature softness. Rocking a short crop that’s often tagged as edgy or boyish, and still radiating the same romantic energy we know her for. It’s proof that femininity doesn’t come from length, curls, or coquette aesthetics. […] The post Did BamBam Just Give the Pixie Cut a Feminine Twist? appeared first on BN Style.
