Waley Clothing’s Mafe Micayah Onyemaechi Channels Personal Loss into Fashion Narrative at REROLL 2025
Nigerian-born creative director Mafe Micayah Onyemaechi of Waley Clothing presented a deeply personal body of work at REROLL 2025, a British Council-sponsored exhibition held from August 22–26 at London’s White Brick Showroom. The event focused on redefining African luxury and how it is expressed in global contexts. For Onyemaechi, the showcase marked a turning point. Following the loss of a loved one earlier in the year, he used the exhibition to debut “ADEWALE with OKE Legacy”, a collection whose name translates to “the crown came home with a big legacy.” The collection features hand-woven aso-oke, adire, and raffia, each chosen for their historical and cultural significance. The fabrics were not only selected for their aesthetic qualities but also for their storytelling potential, with particular attention paid to preserving traditional techniques while presenting them in a modern context. Rather than relying on surface-level fusion of tradition and trend, Onyemaechi’s approach to design is rooted in cultural continuity and intentional craftsmanship. His goal was to build a collection that creates dialogue between Lagos and London, positioning clothing as a form of cultural communication. Onyemaechi says, “Fashion has always been my language when words fail me. REROLL was about transforming pain into something people could […] The post Waley Clothing’s Mafe Micayah Onyemaechi Channels Personal Loss into Fashion Narrative at REROLL 2025 appeared first on BN Style.

The Secret to Flawless Makeup Starts with the Base – And the Right Tools
If you’ve ever admired a makeup look that seemed effortlessly radiant, perfectly blended, and impossibly smooth, chances are it all started with one crucial step: a well-built base. Flawless foundation, even coverage, and that lit-from-within glow are about the products you use and how you apply them. A common mistake many people make when applying makeup is focusing solely on the products, the foundation, the primer, the concealer, without realising that the tools you use can completely transform your results. The right brushcan take your foundation from cakey to airbrushed, your contour from harsh to seamlessly sculpted, and your blush from blotchy to beautifully diffused. Before you can master a full-face glam or nail that no-makeup makeup look, you need to know how to build a strong base layer, and to do that, you must understand what each brush in your collection is really meant for. Because the truth is, not all brushes are created equal. A densely packed buffing brush performs wildly differently from a flat paddle brush. A fluffy dome brush will give you a different finish than a tapered one. And don’t even get started on the game-changing difference a good stippling brush can make! In this […] The post The Secret to Flawless Makeup Starts with the Base – And the Right Tools appeared first on BN Style.

Tolu Coker’s SS26 ‘UNFINISHED BUSINESS’ Brings Legacy to the Runway at London Fashion Week
Tolu Coker is no stranger to weaving narrative, identity, and heritage into fashion, and at London Fashion Week SS26, she did just that with her latest collection titled UNFINISHED BUSINESS. With legendary supermodel Naomi Campbell as her muse, Coker delivered a show that was both visually arresting and deeply introspective. Speaking on the inspiration behind the collection, Coker shared, “I always say clothes should outlive their original wearer, thinking about the idea of clothing as heirlooms or as objects that carry legacies.” This philosophy resonated throughout the presentation, as garments told stories of memory, ancestry, and unfinished dreams passed down through generations.
