Did You Know Too Much Sugar Can Cause Acne?
Acne is not just pimples and blackheads; it is an inflammatory skin disorder that disrupts the hair follicles and oil glands in the skin. The truth is your diet affects your skin, and one of the major disruptors to healthy skin is sugar. The Sugar Connection There’s a consensus among dermatologists that sugary foods can contribute to acne. According to The Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group, this is due to sugar leading to an increase in insulin levels, which in turn can increase the production of sebum, the oily substance that blocks pores and leads to acne. Watch out for foods like refined sugar, candy, desserts, sweetened cereals, soda, and juice, which have high sugar and high glycaemic indices. Low-Glycaemic Diet and Acne A report from the American Academy of Dermatology stated that following a low-glycaemic diet may reduce the amount of acne you have. Examples of low-glycaemic foods are fresh vegetables, fruits, beans, and oats. This is because they reduce blood sugar spikes, which cause inflammation, excess oil production and acne. In a 12-week study in Australia, 43 males with acne aged 15-25 years followed a low-glycaemic diet, and at the end of the 12 weeks, they had less acne […] The post Did You Know Too Much Sugar Can Cause Acne? appeared first on BN Style.

The Power of Pink: Why Wearing Pink Is A Bold Statement of Feminine Power
In popular culture, blue is often associated with boys, while pink is typically linked to girls. That’s why during baby showers, when the gender of the baby is revealed, it’s usually blue for boys and pink for girls. When we were little, this colour dichotomy was seen in the things our parents bought for us, which would either lead girls to like or hate the colour pink.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Nancy.E.Isime (@nancyisimeofficial) When I saw this picture of Nancy Isime in a pink blazer and an all-pink look, complete with a pink bow, I thought of how the colour was so feminine, yet she wore it to a business meeting to seal a partnership. Many women may want to wear black, grey, or brown for corporate and corporate casual events because pink may seem too loud or too feminine, or they would think they would look like a Barbie doll, and no one would take them seriously. But save for a job interview, where you need to look as neutral as possible, wearing pink is actually a good thing. It means you can take up space, shatter glass ceilings, make inventions, and […] The post The Power of Pink: Why Wearing Pink Is A Bold Statement of Feminine Power  appeared first on BN Style.

How to Wear Boob Tape for Every Kind of Dress: 7 Game-Changing Techniques
Gone are the days when we had to skip wearing that dress because our regular bras just didn’t cut it. Boob tape is the fashion hack that’s been saving cleavage, creating lift, and making every dress look flawless. But here’s the thing, not all boob tape applications are created equal. Depending on the style of your outfit, you need the right taping method for both comfort and a seamless finish. Here’s your guide to taping techniques based on 7 different types of outfits: The Deep Plunge Neckline (V-Neck/Plunge Dress) For dresses with a deep plunge or V-neckline, the vertical lift method works wonders. Cut three to four long strips of boob tape for each breast. Starting from under the bust, pull each strip up vertically and stick it firmly over your shoulder or higher up on your chest to create lift. For a natural look, slightly angle the strips toward the centre of your chest. This technique lifts and secures the breasts while leaving the centre of the chest bare, perfect for that daring neckline. Always start by applying nipple covers to protect sensitive areas before taping. The Strapless Dress When wearing a strapless dress, go for the bandeau wrap […] The post How to Wear Boob Tape for Every Kind of Dress: 7 Game-Changing Techniques appeared first on BN Style.

Stop Hair Loss and Grow Your Hair With This Homemade Protein Treatment for All Hair Types
Ever used a comb on your hair, just to see it falling out like you just used a barber’s clipper? Experiencing hair shedding, whether your hair is natural, relaxed or transitioning, often indicates a need for protein treatment. Since hair is primarily composed of keratin, a protein vital for its structure, texture, and growth, protein treatments are a highly effective solution for rejuvenating damaged hair experiencing protein loss. According to studies published in the National Library of Medicine, while a consistent intake of protein is needed for healthy hair, insufficient protein in your diet, frequent use of chemicals and heat styling tools can deplete your hair’s essential protein. Great makeup starts with great skin preparation, and we’re letting you in on the full routine to help your makeup stay fresh, flawless, and longer-lasting. This helps to tighten pores, balance your skin’s pH, and prep your skin to fully absorb the next products you’re going to apply. Don’t skip, it’s the secret to that smooth, makeup-ready base.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by BellaNaija Beauty (@bellanaijabeauty) Step 3: Hydrate (5 minutes) Now, it’s time to bring in the hydration.
