Ruiru Water Finance boss MARY NGIMA KAROGO loses defamation case against 8 media houses
Wednesday, June 19, 2024 - The problems facing the Finance Manager for the Ruiru Water Company, Mary Ngima Karogo, seem to be getting worse. Days after losing a court case she had filed against different media houses for publishing accusations filed at EACC by Veronica Njoki Kinyua, the court has ordered her to meet all the legal costs incurred by all the ten parties she had sued for defamation. At the same time, Ngima Karogo is staring at an avalanche of impending legal suits by the defendants seeking damages for wrongful accusation. While making his judgement on 31st May 2024, Hon. B. M Cheloti, principal Magistrate directed that the suit against 8 media houses be struck out and Ngima Karogo pays all the litigation costs. The magistrate noted that several of the mentioned respondents were wrongly included by the plaintiff and ordered that their names immediately be struck out of the suit. The ruling cements the fact that all accusations levelled against her by a Ruiru resident named Veronica Njoki Kinyua and reported to EACC in a letter dated 7th November 2023, are indeed true.Veronica, in a petition to the graft body, has accused the Finance Manager of Kiambu’s Ruiru Water Company, Mary Ngima Karogo, of gross misconduct that had led to the loss of millions of shillings by the water agency. In an official complaint to EACC, Veronica listed seven allegations against the finance boss.In the compliant, Veronica wants EACC to start investigating Karogo since she believes the evidence provided is enough to declare her unfit to hold public office due to corruption and integrity issues contrary to the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.Among the allegations facing Karogo is her advice (or lack thereof) to the company as Finance Manager leading to non-remittance of corporate tax amounting to more than Ksh 300 million. This, she said has led to great financial loss through penalties.Karogo is also alleged to have released a report by Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) and thereafter misadvised the company resulting in a fine of Ksh 3.6 million which was deducted from WASREB guarantee. The Finance boss is further accused of running the company singlehandedly by assuming managerial powers of the institution by unfairly treating employees and firing and hiring employees of the company. She is accused of seizing the powers of Human Resource Manager by irregularly employing her relatives and allocating them top positions while demoting actual employees who qualify for the positions without any valid reason.Karogo is further alleged to have illegitimately employed herself on permanent and pensionable terms contrary to the company’s policy which states that she ought to be on a contractual basis. The Finance boss is further accused of paying herself per diems for meetings that she failed to attend as well as failing to declare her wealth since she’s accused of amassing wealth from illegal deals within the water company. It remains to be seen, how the Kiambu County Government, the Board and Management of the Ruiru water company and other relevant authorities will deal with the issues raised by the concerned Ruiru resident since reliable sources claim that she enjoys extensive protection from the managing director and some members of the board resulting to her high handedness and feeling of being untouchable ".

BONIFACE MWANGI reveals why RAILA ODINGA went missing during the Finance Bill demos in Nairobi - This is too embarrassing for BABA
Wednesday, June 19,2024 - Award-winning journalist Boniface Mwangi has revealed why former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was absent during Tuesday's demonstrations against the Finance Bill 2024. Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Mwangi, the organizer of the Occupy Parliament movement, explained that Raila Odinga was absent due to his advanced age and because he is contesting for the African Union chairperson position. “Raila is unemployed, is looking for a job at the AU so he is busy canvassing to get the seat. "Raila is also old. He has done this for over 40 years. "We should be ashamed of ourselves for demanding more from Raila. He has given his best,” Mwangi stated. Mwangi further said it is the civic duty of all citizens to hold their leaders accountable. “If the Opposition has let us down, it is because they have no leader,” he stated. Last year around the same time, Raila Odinga called deadly anti-government protests over soaring cost of living, tax hikes, and alleged malpractice in the 2022 presidential election. SHOCK as it emerges that the Government recently imported faulty teargas canisters, posing danger to the police officers - Zinalipuka ovyo ovyo.
Wednesday, June 19, 2024 - There is disquiet within the police force over tear gas canisters recently imported by the Government after it emerged that some of them are faulty. According to a source within the police force, the faulty teargas canisters have been exploding, posing a danger to the police officers. This revelation came to light after a police officer lost his palms after a teargas canister exploded in his hands during the Tuesday demos in Nairobi.  Chief Inspector David Maina was among Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) officers who were deployed in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) to quell demonstrations that were against Finance Bill 2024. However, during a faceoff with the demonstrators Inspector Maina blew his hands off with a teargas canister. He is currently admitted to Nairobi West Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment after losing his hands. An officer aware of the incident said Maina needed a serious operation and possible replacement of his hands. “He may need artificial arms,” said the officer. Police explained the canister in question is different from the one that police have been using in past protests.  The Kenyan DAILY POST.
