The Princess of Wales Steps Out in Tolu Coker While Hosting President Tinubu
In a major style moment, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, stepped out in British-Nigerian designer Tolu Coker, further spotlighting the growing global influence of African fashion. For the high-profile engagement, the Princess wore a sharply tailored A/W 24 double-breasted blazer, striking the perfect balance between classic royal polish and contemporary design. The structured silhouette, clean lines, and refined finish made for a look that felt both powerful and effortlessly elegant.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by The Prince and Princess of Wales (@princeandprincessofwales) The appearance came as she joined Prince William to welcome Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on behalf of the King at the Fairmont Windsor Park. BNS Womens’ Month: What Women Entrepreneurs Really Need to Win With Investors
Women across Africa are building businesses, networks, track records, often with nothing but their own capital and conviction. Yet despite that effort, the African Development Bank estimates a $49 billion financing gap still stands between female entrepreneurs and the funding they need to scale. That gap is a reflection of who gets believed, who gets access, and whose vision investors are willing to bet on. Kofoworola Omowale has spent her career interrogating exactly that. With a background spanning law, private equity, and venture capital, and experience across Kuramo Capital, Future Africa, and the Nigerian Exchange Group, she brings a rare dual perspective: the systems that move capital, and the women too often shut out of them. For BNS Women’s Month Money Week, she breaks down why women bootstrap by strategy not fear, what female founders must understand before walking into a pitch room, and what it will truly take to build an ecosystem that responds equitably to the work women are already doing. Hello Kofoworola. How are you feeling today? Hello! I am alright, thank you. Amazing. Let’s get right into it. From your work designing programs for women entrepreneurs, what patterns have you noticed about why women overwhelmingly choose […] The post BNS Womens’ Month: What Women Entrepreneurs Really Need to Win With Investors appeared first on BN Style.

This Birthday Look from Priscilla Mkambala Is Pure Drama
The outfit Priscilla Mkambala chose for her 25th celebration will live rent free in our head for a long time. The dress was a striking white number designed to command attention. The bottom featured dramatic ruffles that added volume and movement, paired with a matching cascading drape that gave the entire look a soft, almost sculptural feel.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Priscilla Ajoke Ojo (@its.priscy) Up top, the silhouette switched gears into something more structured. A corseted sheer lace bodice cinched the waist so perfectly, it delivered that ultra-snatched effect we all love to see. #BNStyleYourBump: Doing It the Wunmi Mosaku Way (On Red Carpets!)
If there is one person who has mastered the art of doing the most while keeping it completely graceful, it’s our British-Nigerian fave, Wunmi Mosaku. While we’ve been obsessing over her performance in Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners,” Wunmi has been quietly preparing for her most important role yet: becoming a mum for the second time. After successfully keeping her first pregnancy under wraps in 2024, Wunmi decided to do things a little differently this year. She officially announced her news at the 2026 Golden Globes in January, and it was the reveal heard round the world. Walking onto the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton, Wunmi was a vision in a custom, sunshine-yellow Matthew Reisman gown. In a deeply moving personal essay for Vogue released at the same time, she explained: In my Nigerian culture, we don’t really announce this kind of news. It’s meant to be protected… I’ve decided to stop trying to camouflage my bump today at the Golden Globes, so me and baby can truly enjoy and embrace the moment fully together. Since that golden debut, Wunmi has been on a sartorial winning streak that celebrates both her heritage and her silhouette. Is Finding the Birthday Dress Nobody Else Has Really That Hard?
Every birthday season, without fail, the complaints start surfacing. ‘I’ve been to three parties and four girls wore the same dress.’ ‘I saw my exact look on someone else’s Instagram the week before my birthday.’ ‘Everything feels so similar.’ The frustration is genuine, but I want to say something that might be slightly controversial: The dress nobody else has exists. You just haven’t been looking for it in the right way, or at the right time. The birthday dress problem is not a fashion problem. It’s a shopping behaviour problem. And the good news about behaviour problems is that they’re entirely fixable. Here’s my honest take as a fashion girl who has watched this conversation play out year after year, season after season. The girlies are not wrong to be frustrated. But the frustration is pointed at the wrong target. The algorithm is not the enemy. Waiting until three weeks before your birthday to care about what you’re going to wear is.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by BellaNaija Style (@bellanaijastyle) We’ve Outsourced Our Taste to the Algorithm and We’re Surprised It Looks the Same Let’s start here because this is the root of it. How to Build a Career That Is Both Beautiful and Sustainable
I ventured into fashion at a time when it was often looked down upon. In secondary school, I was encouraged to focus on science because I excelled at it. I followed that path for a while, but deep down, I knew where my heart truly was. After graduating, I made the decision to pursue fashion wholeheartedly. My mum supported me from the start. My dad needed a little convincing. Among extended family, , opinions were mixed. Some believed fashion was something you simply learned “on the roadside.” I remember moments during holidays when certain relatives would express their disapproval, and I would quietly remove myself from the room. I was that certain about my path. I studied fashion design and graduated top of my class. As a student, I showcased my work in Iceland and Ghana, experiences that expanded my vision of what was possible. Years later, building my brand with intention and consistency, my work has gone on to show on runways from London to Lagos Fashion Weeks and beyond, placing me in rooms and on platforms I once only imagined. Today, I earn at a level that reflects the value of my work and my positioning within my […] The post How to Build a Career That Is Both Beautiful and Sustainable appeared first on BN Style.

Level Up This March: 7 Opportunity Banks for Nigerian Women
Jola Ayeye is famous for many things. But one of her quotes that’s always making rounds is One thing about nigerian Women, we acheive! If there’s one thing Nigerian women are not, it’s without ambition. What’s often missing isn’t the drive, it’s the information. The grants that open and close without enough people knowing. The fellowships that feel like they were written for someone else, until you actually read the eligibility criteria and realise they were written exactly for you. The jobs that get filled before the right person even hears about them. Somewhere between LinkedIn’s noise and the WhatsApp group chat that somehow always shares the link three days after the deadline, a smarter ecosystem has been building. Women, Nigerian women, African women, who got tired of waiting for the information to reach them and decided to become the source themselves. They built newsletters. They curated job boards. They started communities where sharing what you know, when you know it, is treated as something close to a civic duty.
